MUST READ!

READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT.

* THE TRUE COLOUR OF TATTOOING CAN NOT BE SEEN FOR 4-6 WEEKS AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT *

GENERAL INFORMATION

- Wear black clothing as pigment can flick around and I don't want to damage your clothing.

- Bring headphones if you would like to listen to a podcast or music.

- Wear comfy clothing. You will be laying for a long time so make yourself as comfortable as possible.

- Do not arrive early or late, but on time. Please to not arrive early as I work from a private studio. Do not arrive more than 10 minutes late as I can not accommodate for late arrivals. You will forfeit your deposit and another deposit will be required upon rebooking if you are more than 10 minutes late. Allow time for traffic and parking.

There is ample free parking and close public transport nearby.

- Come alone to your appointment as it is a very cosy space and any one else in the room is distracting for me.

Your patience is require during treatment.

Please don't make appointments or have places where you need to be afterward so I don't feel rushed to try and get you out in time - it is a tattoo on your face.

You want it to be perfect.

- The whole tattooing process takes roughly 3 hours. Touch up sessions will be shorter but still allow adequate time just incase. I can't stress enough how much I like to take my time and make sure everything is perfect.

- Please be mindful of chit chat - as much as I love a good gossip/catch up session and don't mind at the beginning of the appointment once I start to work it is distracting for me.

LIPS BEFORE CARE

- The day of your appointment no coffee. No alcohol or other substances 48 hours before. Please be in good health for your appointment.

- For 5 days leading up to your lip appointment VERY gently exfoliate your lips every evening and apply a nourishing balm straight after. Continue to apply a nourishing balm throughout the 5 days leading up to your appointment. I recommend using 'Dermal Therapy Lip Balm' it is available from all major supermarkets and chemists. Properly hydrated and nourished lips allow for better needle/pigment penetration. This equals better healed results.

- Many lip tattooing clients have filler - in fact, they work perfectly together. You need to wait 4 weeks between appointments to allow for adequate healing time. If you are not sure what to get first - filler or lip tattooing. Please get filler as it slightly stretches the lip skin. This makes it easier to tattoo. If you decide to no longer get filler the lip tattooing colour will simply 'shrink' with your lips.

- If you are prone to getting cold sores or have ever had one in your life you will need to take antiviral medication for at least 7 days leading up to your appointment, the day of and all during the healing stage. Causing trauma to the lips can resurface the HSV virus. An outbreak can affect the final healed result. Our aim is to prevent this from happening. Please speak to your doctor/pharmacist for the most suitable options for you.

LIPS AFTERCARE

Correctly followed before and aftercare is 90% of the healed result.

- The area will feel tender, raw, sore and hold heat once the numbing cream starts to wear off a few hours after finishing. There may be swelling present and the colour will appear bold. The swelling will subside in the hours following and the colour will soften once fully healed. You may take pain relief after your appointment.

- After tattooing, lymph fluid will leak from the tattoo to start the healing process and form scabs. You do not want these fluids to sit on your tattoo and form large, crusty scabs. For the first 24 hours you need to gently wipe the lymph fluid away with lint free cotton rounds and sterile water (boiled water cooled down).

In between this cleaning process apply the aftercare balm. Make sure that they never fully dry out. If they are dry and tight, apply more balm.

Please apply the balm with a clean finger or cotton tip.

- After the first 24 hours keep them as DRY AS POSSIBLE. Only clean the area when needed eg - after eating/brushing your teeth. Get cotton rounds, wet them with sterile water, completely wring out any excess water then VERY gently dab/wipe over your lips to removes any dirt or excess cream before reapplying.

- Do not touch your tattoo with dirty fingers, remember it is an opened and healing wound. An infection could occur and possibly ruin the tattoo.

- Do not pick or pull at the flaking skin during healing. It is SO important to let the skin/scabs come away naturally. If you prematurely pick or pull the skin this will result in a very poor healed result that will look patchy and uneven. You want to keep the pigment/flaky skin on for as long as possible.

This enables the pigment to heal IN the skin.

- Do not sleep on your face to avoid lifting your scabs prematurely and make sure you’re sleeping on a clean pillowcase to avoid infection.

- Avoid harsh cleansers, creams, makeup, or any other products on the treated area until all the scabs have naturally fallen off.

- Do not expose your tattoo to UV rays or tanning beds for 6 weeks after. Exposure to UV rays can alter the appearance of the tattoo dramatically.

Always wear SPF once fully healed.

- No excessive sweating until all the scabs have come away naturally.

- No facials, lasers, invasive skin treatments or filler for 6 weeks post appointment date. Always advise the therapist what you have done and avoid the area. It is recommended that you always tread with caution when receiving future treatments and when using active skin care. Avoid the tattoo as much as possible.
