Who CAN NOT get a Cosmetic Tattoo?

- Pregnant/breast feeding women

- People under the age of 18

- If you have HIV/AIDS (risk of spreading infection)

- Been on Accutane or similar medication. You must be off this medication for 1 year prior to booking an appointment.

- Are prone to keloid scarring

- Undergoing Chemotherapy or Radiation treatment.

You will need to wait 12 months after completing chemotherapy/radiation as the immune system is compromised and you are at high risk of infection.

A doctors note will also need to be provided prior to going ahead with a service.

How long will it last?

This is dependant on your skin, correctly followed before/aftercare, overall health and if you have regular touch ups.

Factors that will cause your tattoo to fade faster:

- Oily skin

- Retinol/topical active skincare

- Chemical peels, exfoliants, micro-needling, lasers and invasive facials

- Iron deficiency

- UV exposure

Does it hurt?

It is slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable.

How do you get the right shape?

Measuring techniques are used to create symmetry. The shape is mapped out and a pre-draw is completed. You will then see the shape. We are able to alter anything you would like before starting. Make sure you are 100% happy with the pre-draw before tattooing.

How do you know what colour to use?

I have extensive knowledge and am highly trained in colour theory. I have a large range of high quality pigments that can either be mixed or used on their own.

Can you get a Lip Tattoo if you have the cold sore virus?

If you have ever had a cold sore you will need to get over the counter medication to prevent it from happening prior to your tattoo appointment.

Please read 'Before and Aftercare' for more information.

Can I still get Lip Tattooing if I have lip filler?

Yes. In no way does having lip filler interfere with the process of lip tattooing. Please note that lip filler and lip tattooing appointments must be at least 4 weeks apart from each other.

Can I get Lip Tattooing if I have dark/cool toned lips?

Yes, however it is not as straight forward as adding colour. Colour correction is needed to cancel out the cool tones. Results can not be guaranteed and lightening/evening out dark lips may take multiple sessions. If you are unsure if you have dark or cool toned lips, please send me a picture of your lips in natural light prior to booking an appointment.

For Lip Tattooing can we tattoo outside the lip line to make them appear fuller?

Yes, it is dependant on each individual as to how far the shape can be pushed. Lip tattooing can only go as far as the vermillion border.

Are the pigments harmful in any way and how do I know I won't react?

If you are concerned about having a reaction please book a consultation/patch test.

How do I decide what technique?

We go through an in-depth consultation on the day to determine what technique is best suited for you.

Is there anything I should do/know before my appointment?

Please refer to Before/Aftercare.
